Tomato potato psyllid (TPP)

The tomato potato psyllid is a major pest first recognised in the early 1900s. It attacks crops in the Solanaceae (potato, tomato, pepper) as well as members of the Convolvulaceae (including sweet potato).Native to North America, it has recently spread to New Zealand and Western Australia. Infestation results in “psyllid yellows” and the insect can transmit the bacterium associated with Zebra Chip disease.
